I can appreciate a tied shirt every now and then, although sometimes the look feels too grungy..There is nothing grungy about Natasha N.; shot in London for Bisous Natasha via Lookbook. She is a great example of a tied shirt done well and with sophistication.
With summertime comes soaring temperatures, endless pool parties and get-togethers. Sometimes it can be challenging to look pulled together while taking into consideration the sweltering heat. After all, the traditional beach flip-flop, shorts and a tee just won’t do for the average Stylista. Natasha shows us how to keep it simple while looking like effort was made…
You can’t go wrong with a fitted little black dress paired with a stacked heel sandal. Depending upon where you are in Southern California, temperatures inevitably dip at night, so bring along your favourite, worn denim jacket. A top bun keeps the look clean and fresh while the mirrored aviators add sass.
I like it!
As many of you know I recently moved. Translation? My desire to shop for clothing has to go on the back-burner for now as I furnish my new space. I’m loving seeing it all come together, however, I do miss my weekly treats to myself in the form of a brand new garment. I’ve decided to challenge myself to shop vintage until I’ve reached my goal of a fully furnished home to my liking. Moreover, I feel I’ll be doing my part to be kinder to the planet by doing so. I planned a jaunt recently, and look what I found…I quite like this little denim dress find…I coupled it with my Brixton hat, current accessories and a great sandal. It was under $10, $15 with dry-cleaning, and it received many thumbs up. I can do this!
Suiting up has changed drastically. No more the conservative investment banker suit of the past. Now it’s all about a choice of colours, as well as silhouettes. I happen to find a sleek, clean, silhouette with just the right detail appealing.Èlan is wearing a Top Shop suit, Zara shirt & shoes from his collection. In addition, he has opted for an edgier haircut to bring more dimension to his overall look.
Well done Èlan!
My recent move consisted of almost 30 boxes, and no furniture, aside from a bookcase, coffee table and bed. As for the 30 boxes? I’m embarrassed to admit the majority consisted of beauty products and clothing.
I have vowed to simplify tremendously, I actually felt gluttonous as I unpacked what seemed like an endless supply of clothing and beauty items. I refuse to allow material things to over-run my life, which is the reason, I’m simplifying in every area…starting with my wardrobe. I’m taking a long hiatus from shopping…I’ll be sharing tips on how to bring life back to those garments which haven’t seen light in years, and incorporating vintage finds. Of course, I’ll also keep it modern and fresh, through a little help from my friends who aren’t pondering taking a hiatus from wardrobe shopping anytime soon…lol.
Seems there’s no better time to start than the present. Victoria Bouchard has a sense of style which she has owned. She’s never trendy and always modern without following the latest fads of the moment. Here, she is wearing a Sandro-Paris dress, with a James Perse slip, a Black Denim leather jacket and Doc Martin boots. The final look is simple, funky and hip…#iloveeverythingaboutit
Whether Adam Casey (better known as Adam Excess) is gearing up to DJ a gig in some part of the world, or just hanging out prowling for catchy beats to add to his endless library of music, his style is always on point.A backwards baseball cap, destroyed tee, loose cropped cotton pants, sneakers, arm candy and an exquisite tattoo make for a pulled together, yet relaxed look. http://www.soundcloud.com/adam-excess
I’ve more than my fair share of pencil skirts, which haven’t been worn for some time. I go through fashion phases. It was all about the skinny, bootcut & boyfriend denim styles for awhile, and although I’m not ditching any of the above, I think it’s time to resurrect my pencil skirts. Today I opted for this asymmetrical Esisto pencil skirt in eggplant, with a cropped fisherman’s sweater from American Apparel, Alexander Wang shoes and one of my favourite statement pieces of Jewelry. A necklace I found years ago at a consignment shop in Chicago.
This look is feminine, sexy, relevant and most anyone can rock it. I don’t know about you, however, I need a hiatus from denim everyday. Time to get back in touch with my feminine side;)
“Never allow someone to be your priority, while allowing yourself to be their option.”
If ever you find yourself in this predicament, don’t fear leaving, the void will surely be filled with someone exponentially healthier. Walking away from someone who is not edifying is imperative, although, it ain’t that easy…
