Good Times At Tuscali

This past weekend was a very full and eventful one for me, however, the highlight was a dinner party I attended. There is something for everyone here in Southern California, everything from fast-paced city living to the quaint and serene. After living here for many years, I continue to be pleasantly surprised by all it’s offerings, Topanga’s Tuscali Mountain Inn Luxury Bed & Breakfast is now among them. It is located in the heart of the Santa Monica mountains on a gated three-acre property with amazing views, and very intimate for those seeking the perfect overnight get-away whether it’s romantic or just the girls.

There is something so enticing about a piano, one of the guests couldn’t wait to get her fingers on these ebony and ivories…

and it didn’t take long for those in earshot to join.

Sweet Chandra was too busy enjoying her drink to give 100%, and understandably so, this unique, non-alcoholic cucumber champagne was like something I’ve never tasted. It was served chilled, with just the right amount of sweetness, a vat would have been nice.

After plenty of hor d’oeuvres, and several glasses of the specialty drink with the secret recipe, our hostess announced dinner would be served. We were led to the beautiful backyard area of this cozy bed & breakfast where we found a beautifully set table with pashminas on the back of each chair. Since we were dining al fresco, our hostess was thoughtful enough to include this great parting gift, as well as a container of personalized bath salts.

Our darling hostess, Toni Purry, President of Purry Communications gave the most heartfelt welcome and introduced us to our cook for the evening, Becky Reams, who is also a photographer and currently a contestant on Master Chef. Upon indulging in Becky’s cuisine it is certainly no surprise she made it on the show, the meal was not only scrumptious, but quite pleasing to the eye…art on a platter. Suffice it to conclude, Ms. Becky is a culinary genius.

What a beautiful night for fellowship.

Kim looked great in bright, cropped denim paired with this black bolero jacket with white stitching detail, and a white tank underneath. The large hoop earrings are the perfect accessory, in addition to a low-heeled black sandal to complete the look… and with that, Kim is Stylista Muse of the night.

Wow what an amazing evening! As if the bath salts and pashminas weren’t enough, we all left with a bag including a tin of homemade Moroccan mint chocolate truffles and a mason jar filled with freshly baked cookies from scratch. Thank you Ms. Toni Purry, you are a class act!

Special thanx to owners, Teresa and Bruce Royer who were more than accommodating. Bruce was kind enough to help us ladies move our cars, while his adorable wife Teresa stopped by to say goodbye as we parted ways…Tuscali Inn is definitely one of Southern California’s hidden treasures.
