Trends come and go, however, many maintain longevity and from there a classic is born. Let’s take leggings, for instance, they are now a true classic. In fact, there are many clothing companies, recently launched, where the main focus is leggings. They are getting more and more sophisticated with each launch as a result of innovative ideas. More on leggings in a separate piece.
For now, it’s all about upscale, dressy sneakers, which have become a staple in the wardrobe of many women who want to maintain style while NOT compromising on comfort. The days of wearing sky high heels for hours in a day are o-v-e-r! I’m certainly not suggesting you toss your Louboutins, as they are more than apropos for a romantic dinner or special evening where you’re seated for most of the event. However, for the woman on the go with people to see and places to be, whose day begins before the sun shows it’s beautiful rays, and ends when it bids us good-bye for the day…a hot, fabulous sneaker seems to be the go-to.

These are just a few of the more popular styles available… based on my profession, comfort is a necessity. My latest acquisition on the sneaker front, was this pair of Laura Bellariva’s from Gregory’s on Melrose Avenue.
I dress them up or down depending upon all the day entails. Recently I donned them with a white tee, boyfriend jeans and a few fun accessories.
Rachel Zoe happens to be one of my favourite stylists. I simply love her aesthetic because she seems to keep it classic, but with a twist. 60’s mod was all over the runway, and Rachel nailed it as always, aside from an array of the perfect take on the 60’s mod dress, true to form, we saw her super long, modern take on a bell bottom trouser. There were so many pieces I added to my Rachel Zoe wish list, however, here are three of my favourites, which also includes one of Rachel’s:
As many of you know, I am a vegetarian and contientious of products I use on my body and around the home. I’m not super legalistic about this because of the simple fact I live in Los Angeles, a city so polluted I’m not certain breathing in the air is any worse. Furthermore, it isn’t my intent to become obsessive compulsive about such things.
Although, I am unable to control pollution, except by doing my part to be as ‘green’ as possible, I am able, however, to control what goes on and inside of my body. My latest obsession is GLOSS Moderne, which is made up of a luxurious shampoo, conditioner, hair serum and mask with a beautiful coco de soleil scent. I use absolutely no chemicals of any kind in my hair, and as a result of the richness of the product, I am able to forego finishing products as well. This is one of the greatest benefits of GLOSS Moderne I have personally experienced…I don’t need to use any additional products! it leaves my hair shiny, bouncy, sleek and healthy looking.
GLOSS Moderne contains no parabens, sulfates, sodium or fillers, this means your 8 ounce shampoo and conditioner are the equivalent of 16 ounces…I love everything about it!
Stay tuned, body & home products could be forthcoming… shhhh, you didn’t learn this from me.
So Labor Day is upon us and it’s been said “white is out!” after Labor Day. Well, I’ve decided to brainwash myself OUT of this outdated ‘fashion don’t.’ Of course, if you reside in a climate where rain, snow and slush are an integral part of your fall/winter, there is good reason to store the white until summer rolls around again.
However, if you are fortunate enough to live in sunny Los Angeles or a climate similar, let’s buck the system ladies! I still have a slew of white garments I haven’t had the opportunity to wear this summer. Why should I peruse through my closet with regret, as I peer at all the garments I could and should be wearing AFTER Labor Day, is there one good reason I should not don these lovelies? It’s usually 80 & sunny in this fine city of ours…I should say not.
As I embark upon a brand new season, this ensemble will be part of many to come. What are your thoughts on white after Labor Day in a warm climate?

Okay, so I know many of you winced at the title of this posting… however, fall is my absolute favourite time of the year, with the emergence of hats, boots, leather jackets and skirts! Euphoric! I’ve been away for a while, with a few false starts in the mix, however, I’m feeling like I’m here to stay with all the newness fall has to offer.
Starting with these lovely pieces produced by the fabulous Jason Wu… yes, he does it again. This man is so consistent!
This fall invest in a skirt below the knees, pointy shoe, oversized sweater or tailored shirt, clutch and of course a classic biker jacket.
I’m a huge skeptic when it comes to skincare gadgets and creams. After all, how effective can either truly be in making a marked difference? Well, I’ve been pleasantly surprised with a few on the market lately in both categories. … Continue reading
